Practice

Precision at the front end. Production discipline behind it.

Most computer-vision work dies between the notebook and the shot list. The geometry is sound, the metrics look good, and then it meets real cameras that drift, real lenses that breathe, and a schedule that doesn't care.

I work at both ends of that gap. I design and certify the camera rig, solve the calibration, and build the tracking and generative pipelines — then deploy, monitor, and keep them running unattended through batch workloads. That second half is where two decades of infrastructure engineering stopped being a previous career and started being the reason the first half ships.

Multi-view geometry & calibration

Intrinsics and extrinsics, rig certification, marker-level 3D fusion, epipolar validation, and the failure modes that closure error alone will not reveal.

Tracking & detection

Fiducial-marker systems, homography and PnP pose solving, promptable segmentation, and distillation of classical trackers into learned models.

Generative video pipelines

Diffusion-based identity and gesture replacement, masked compositing, temporal-consistency work, and unattended batch rendering at scale.

Multi-agent AI orchestration

Parallel agent workflows for research, code review, and render supervision — with the verification harnesses that make their output trustworthy.

Production infrastructure

GPU workstation builds, remote pipelines, storage and network architecture, identity and access management, and security hardening.

Selected work

Three problems worth the geometry

Multi-camera 3D fusion

Sub-pixel tracking across an uncalibrated three-camera rig

A production capture setup needed frame-accurate 3D positions for small, fast-moving marked objects — across three cameras at wide baselines, one of them at a punishing oblique angle where detections fragmented into anonymous clusters.

  • Built a marker-level fusion pipeline that triangulates each fiducial independently rather than solving per-view pose, eliminating the inter-view "breathing" that board-level solving introduced.
  • Cross-view epipolar transfer raised usable marker identification in the worst camera from under 2% to 94–97%, at 100% precision with zero identity conflicts.
  • Diagnosed a physical rig defect through leave-one-view-out validation — a fault invisible to closure-error metrics, which reported 0.09°.
  • Established per-take epipolar synchronisation after proving that audio and timecode alignment were insufficient at the required precision.

Automation

Removing the human from a frame-by-frame correction loop

The incumbent approach was markerless, and required an operator to hand-correct tracked geometry on a significant share of frames. It did not scale, and it made unattended batch work impossible.

  • Designed a printed fiducial-marker system end to end — dictionary selection, inset geometry, ink and substrate testing, and a surface finish specified against measured gloss units to survive high-intensity lighting.
  • Validated detector behaviour under motion blur, defocus, and oblique angles, then locked a single detection path to eliminate silent resolution-dependent failures.
  • Result: manual intervention eliminated from the tracking stage; overnight batch rendering became possible for the first time.

Applied ML

Distilling a classical tracker into a learned model

Marker-based tracking is accurate but requires physical markers. To lift that constraint, I used the certified classical pipeline as an automatic label factory and trained a pose model against it.

  • Generated ground truth automatically from validated fiducial output — no hand annotation, and purity controls to keep tainted runs out of the training set.
  • Trained a keypoint-pose network reaching 99.8% agreement with the classical tracker on held-out footage.
  • Built super-resolution and sharpening preprocessing that materially improved detection in the weakest camera view.

Contract & freelance

Independent engagements

Independent work — from the computer-vision and generative-video engineering I do now, back through fifteen years of automation and infrastructure engagements across manufacturing, healthcare, real estate, logistics, and incident response.

2025 – present

CV/AI Solutions Engineer

Independent contract  ·  entertainment video production

Sole engineer on a computer-vision and generative-video pipeline replacing manual post-production labour.

  • Multi-camera rig design, calibration, certification, and 3D fusion.
  • Diffusion-based identity and gesture replacement with segmentation compositing.
  • Automated batch rendering on local GPU infrastructure, with QC harnesses.
  • Multi-agent AI orchestration across research, review, and render supervision.

Wholesale order fulfilment

Clothing manufacturer

  • Hired to document an outgoing employee's manual process so her replacement could be trained on it. Bulk orders from a national retail chain were being cross-referenced against store IDs by hand, then turned into per-store packing lists, quantities, and shipping labels for 150 stores.
  • Documented it — then automated it. A few days of spreadsheet work took the task out of the job entirely, and the replacement never had to learn it.
